A company lists total assets at $37,906,334. In a press release they say they will sell some land that doesn't impact their operations and it will generate $96,000,000 in cash. They introduce a website as a sideline to sell some crafts and herbs, etc made by local Indian tribes. I almost don't care what the rest of the business plan is. Less than 80 million shares out, I want as much of that that I can get my hands on.

Some are questioning if the $96,000,000 represents only a 1/3 portion of
their land. That, if true, would leave the remaining 2/3 worth $192,000,000?

there are people out there also questioning if the 96 Million is the total package if they sell all there land .Some think it means 32 million dollars in 3 segments some think its 96 million for each segment WOOD wrote that part of the PR up very poorly IMHO and left questions to be answered.

I ask myself this question as well because of this segment out of Fridays PR:

Ramiro Fernandez-Moris, CEO of WOOD, stated that the company is now focused on growth and will convert a good
portion of the company owned timberland assets in Brazil into solid industrial growth by their subsequent sale. The company is
in position to approve expansion projects such as the acquisition of two more sawmills, a plywood plant, and equipment to
manufacture finished products such as furniture parts and moldings, once the land sales have been finalized. The company will
also increase its environmental replanting programs with the additional funding achieved from these land sales.

You do what you think is best for you but I hope everybody noticed this guys posts.

Let's remember that an appraisal is an estimate...

...all depends on WHO is doing the ground work. I am now involved in a condemnation case that involves a state agency to acquire land through eminent domain. Without giving details on our case, appraisals on property can vary like night and day. I've seen a piece of property appraised at $100,000, case went to court and the land owner was awarded $1,700,000 (appraiser vs appraiser). Not always the case mind you, but I think you get my point. An appraisal vs open market sale is not always the same, ask any realtor.

Our farming corporation has carried the value of land on the books as the value at which it was purchased. Since you can't really depreciate the value of land, it stays this way. Land has been worth up to $1000 an acre in my area, and still the accountant doesn't change the value on the books.
