Thread,

The acquisition of Nextel, if materialized, should bode well for WCOM (which has been lacking this piece, regrettably).

I added to my long position and sold puts (September 90p, LDQUR, premium $8 1/2) this morning.

Robert -

a 3 percent drop in a stock that is so close to its all time high is not a significant comment on the deal.

when it first announced the deal for mci, wcom stock went into a long swoon. if i recall, it went down to the high twenties. you see where it is now.

i've been long for 5 years now, since the ldds days. (full disclosure - i'm also long nxtl, but much more heavily wcom). i tend to trust bernie's decisions - and have done very well.
