Okay, just how bad is it? Are margin calls swamping the market? Are they swamping you?

Let's share our knowledge about the mechanics of margin and margin calls: how is margin calculated on stocks, long options, covered calls, nakeds, LEAPS, bonds? How are the day-trading margin calculations different?

Let's pool our knowledge about margin requirements at specific firms. What firms are charging 50% or 100% maintenance on Internet stocks? What firms have raised their maintenance requirements on options?

We'll post alerts when margin rules change, as they have twice this year.

Last but not least, will the current wave of margin calls + tax selling doom the market?
