Broadbase Software's home base is e-commerce -- and the
company wants its Broadbase E-Business Performance
Management (EPM) software suite to score a home run.
Formerly BroadBase Information Systems, the company
makes software that integrates and analyzes various
sources of customer information to help its e-business
clients improve customer service, target potential
customers, and personalize marketing promotions.
Broadbase sells directly and through distributors to such
customers as Indus International (18% of sales) and
Hewlett-Packard (10%). Entities affiliated with Benchmark
Capital own about 31% of the company. Other shareholders
include entities affiliated with Accel Partners and Mohr,
Davidow Ventures.
