Now that the Zitel nonsense is winding down, I thought it might be fun to examine how the story unfolded so we may avoid getting sucked into losers like this in the future. There is no doubt that Emerald Research and Dave Stewart misled investors with outrageous claims about this dying company. What is the realtionship between Stewart, Emerald, Zitel/MD management and the market makers who were pumping/dumping the stock? More importantly, was Zitel's investment in Matridigm designed solely to cash in on the Y2K frenzy through hyping the stock, or did Jack King and the other Zitel execs really believe they would see a real return from this dubious startup? When Ken Titow (former Matridigm CEO) left the company after such a short period of time and without a reasonable explanation, it reminded me about the John Sculley/Spectrum affair (for more info about it, read the last paragraph of the following page:) pbs.org Thoughts?
