I've been continually amazed that no one has started a thread for Time Warner, a behemoth that is the number two CATV MSO, in addition to their extensive entertainment and publishing holdings. There is always a lot in the press about them, but no thread serving as a clearinghouse and discussion area. An investment in TWX early this year would have been handsomely rewarded, after a dismal performance over the past few years after the merger and the blocking of acquisition.

I don't have an investment in TWX, but I follow them because of their Time Warner Entertainment JV with U S WEST Media Group (UMG), soon to be MediaOne Group. UMG has 25.5% of TWE.

As I write this, TWX is up substantially because of MSFT's reported interest in investing $1 billion in UMG. Their tie-in with UMG, and now MSFT, could spark interest similar to the mania that has accompanied ATHM since its IPO.

Any interest?
