Vivendi is one of the leading media/telecom companies in Europe through interests in Canal+, Cegetel, and Havas. Recently they announced jv with Softbank to develop internet businesses throughout Europe. On the Vivendi Board are a number of leading int'l business figures incl Middelhoff (Bertlesmann)and Arnault (LVMH). It appears that Messier, the CEO, is trying to steer the company away from its historic roots in the utilities and construction/property interests, and into media/internet/telecom. If Vivendi were to spin off non-tech/non-media activities and look to get a US listing, the company should garner a lot of favorable attention. The company does not have an ADR but can be be purchased through US brokers that may a market in the shares. Does anyone follow this company? | ||||||||||||
