Building a smart dream home with Fast Internet Access

I'm thinking of buying a new home and would like to setup a full-on office inside with full speed internet access.

Since I'll be the first owner of the home, I can have the house wired the way I want. What sort of cabling should I get for the house so I can be guaranteed fast internet access?

Does anyone know what current, newest technology I should get put in?

What sort of cabling or conduit can I put in that will let me upgrade to the new technology when it comes out?

Does anyone have an idea what the newest will be?

I would like to pre-plan for the future so I can setup an office and be guaranteed fast multiple line access to the internet.

I already have a 100bT Ethernet network in my apartment, so in the new house, I think I'd want to add cabling to allow me to have ethernet from any room.

If you were going to build a new home, what features would you design into the home in order to accomplish this feat? What other items would you design in? Cabling for a networked smart home?

What companies (stocks) do you think are heading towards this technology?

1 How it's wired isn't as important where it's wired, and with what. Concept9-11/1/1999
