This is a forum/blog/diary that I hope to start looking at the market from a higher level down.
Through Industry/Sector Groups and Indices and various Market Indices.
DDT - Distorted Dow Theory.
The idea being that one sticks with the strong and picks on the weak.

The emphasis is purely TA.
I do not want any fundamental analysis voodoo clouding things up here.
All aspects TA are welcome, and appreciated.

Good luck

My timeframes and terminology:

Timeframes

LTBH - Long Term Buy and Hold
LT - Long Term
IT - Intermediate Term
ST1 - Short Term (or ST)
ST2 - Intraday
ST3 - Intraday Entry

LTBH - corresponds to the swings in (5-13 period) quarterly stoch.
LT - corresponds to the swings in (5-13 period) monthly stoch.
IT - corresponds to the swings in (5-13 period) weekly stoch.
ST1 - corresponds to the swings in (5-13 period) daily stoch.
ST2 - corresponds to the swings that last 1 -3 days.
ST3 - corresponds to the 1 - 3 swings that we see intraday

Terminology:

My indicators are 'effectively' oscillators so they tend to signal a change before the actual trend has changed.
I therefore look at the higher order timeframe to give me clues as to whether to follow them.
Looking for supporting divergences, momentum, or trends.

MOMENTUM - Defining direction by use of momentum indicators. Noisy and does give false signals.
PIVOTS - Defining direction by the arrangement of recent pivot bars to each other. Noisy and does give false signals.
PIVOTHIGH - The high of the most recent reference pivot bar.
PIVOTLOW - The low of the most recent reference pivot bar.
FLAG - Warning of indicators reaching either o/sold or o/bt against trend/direction in the (next) higher timeframe.
"*" = Possible Reversal approaching!
"**" = Probable Reversal approaching!
TRENDOSCILLATOR - Long (21-55 period) stochastic/momentum indicators.
TRENDSTRENGTH - An indicator (lags price) that I use to quantify a Trend.
TREND+ - The Trend in the higher timeframe.
