Golden Star Resources Ltd. is an international mining company and gold producer. The Company owns a 90% equity interest in Bogoso Gold Limited (BGL), which owns the Bogoso gold mine in Ghana. Through its 73%-owned subsidiary, Guyanor Resources S.A. (Guyanor), the Company has interests in several gold exploration properties in French Guiana. BGL also has an agreement with Prestea Gold Resources Limited (PGR), the Ghana Mineworkers Union and the Government of Ghana and related parties to form a joint venture, to be managed by BGL, for the assessment and future operations of the Prestea underground mine. BGL will become a 45% joint venture partner, with PGR also holding 45% and the Government of Ghana holding a 10% carried interest
