I have always been against people forming up and picking on people ... took part in such a thing,,,
X, you have no idea how neurotically-determined your insisted-on affiliation with the bully, whose behavior you yourself found disgusting and wrong (until you got drawn into it), looks, and also how absolutely peculiar your claim that the bully is the victim looks.
You know about bullying in a school setting, so let's use a school metaphor. It's not far fetched, since the victim was a person known by the bully to have a history of a condition making her particularly fragile and vulnerable to what he was doing to her.
The School Metaphor:
I would like to see what would happen if a bully picked on a vulnerable child of yours in school,
and his school friends tried repeatedly and sincerely behind the scenes to convince him to leave your child alone,
even providing face-saving ways for him to stop,
and when he refused to desist,
the bully even went so far as to get his lawyer-Daddy to threaten to sue the principle if he enforced the school rules against harassment, threatening, invasive of another's privacy, improper, or otherwise objectionable behavior...
if then, and only then, your vulnerable child's friends transferred to another school, or class, where the bully couldn't pursue your child,
yet, without even discussing it with your child, still trying not to exclude the bully by approaching him with the suggesting that if he'd just leave your child alone (no sexual harassment, no threats, no accusations of lack of patriotism or hostility to our soldiers, that sort of thing), he would be welcome in the other school,
and he refused....
Even after your child's family, your husband, maybe, contacted the bully, (who in the meantime, incidentally, you could hardly have failed to notice was slandering other students in this school with sexual lies and insinuations, and telling other lies about his own peersonal behavior to a coterie of his friends, who, fooled, defended him),
And, oddly enough, this bully had a staunch defender, even after your vulnerable child had had a nervous collapse, or recurrence of a medical condition....
In fact, the defender of the bully began to join the bully in ridiculing of your child....
What would you think of this defender?
Wouldn't you think she had some deep-seated psychological problem if she kept insisting that it was the community of students (students of all political stripes, incidentally) who tried to stop the bullying they realized was cruel who were the bad guys, and the bully, who had insisted and insisted and insisted and insisted on continuing torment your vulnerable child and other students in this school you have studied about bullying in, who was the victim? Who manifested a deep affinity for the bully?
Someone was getting satisfaction from all that, X. But it wasn't the ones who tried to stop it; it was the one who could have stopped it but chose to continue it, and who supported the one who continued it, and even joined in the ridicule of the victim.
I haven't checked these links, who were compiled by someone else (I don't have time to check them; probably there are redundancies), but I'm sure they contain some reminders, in case you forget what the sepulcher you've tried to white looks like on the record.
And X, no matter how often you repeat the Big Lie that it was the bully who was the victim, it doesn't become the truth.
Incidentally, the bully has still not apologized, which you defend, though an apology would have resulted in forgiveness by the bully's main victim (though not by some incidental ones, I say with some authority.)

The minister bit: He claimed on IHUB he was a minister. When challenged on the matter on SI, he
evaded. He didn't deny saying it, but he got as close as he could without explicitly denying it. He did
allow Neo and JLA to stand up and fight the charges against him- -knowing they were true. When IHUB
improved their search tool to allow searching a single poster's post- -BINGO! there they were. JLA was
incensed. I don't blame him one bit.
JLA and E made an honest effort to broker a settlement by PM. E suggested by PM to CH a trial 30 day cessation by him of posts toorabout Poet, with a face saver. CH refused it.
All this time, months and months on end, BB was consumed, eaten alive by the controversy
surrounding that egomaniac CH who HAS to be the center of attention.
FInally, to put a stop to the war and to get some worthwhile discussion going again, SMBR was started.
It got reasonable, interesting discussion going again, it stopped the interminable war that
had consumed BB, and it got CH off Poet's back.
SMBR was started on 2/27. On 3/2- -2 days later- -negotiations were started with CH about admitting
him to the thread. He instead on conditions which would allow loopholes. The negotiations broke down
after 2 days.
There was a secrecy agreement binding on him, Laz, and E (who was also involved and CH was aware
of that). We kept the agreement until he broke it.
