If one takes an anthropological perspective to look at the current U.S. War on Drug Users, it becomes apparent that prohibitions against drug use have always been just as ubiquitous as drug use itself.

It's sort of like the Incest Taboo; every culture has some type of incest prohibition, just as there are always some individuals in the group who will violate the rules.

Presently in the U.S. almost a million citizens are incarcerated as a result of drug prosecutions. Privately-run prisons are a growth industry, along with drug-detection laboratories, and pre-employment screening firms.

In some areas of the U.S., the biggest cash crop in dollar terms is marijuana. Vast networks of business alliances devoted to the importation, manufacture, and distribution of illegal drugs work smoothly, by and large, to deliver products to their consumers at competitive prices.

The purpose of this forum is to conduct discussion of profit-making opportunities relating to both (1) trade in illegal drugs as well as (2) government efforts to limit such trade.

Hot tips on prison REITs and new drug-detection technology are just as welcome as information on innovative products appearing at the local "smoking accessories" shop.
