A new company is forming to begin operations June 1, 1999 by a lady victimized by a gun theft to allow, for a nominal fee, owners to register previously unregistered guns or weapons in a data base free of any GOVERNMENTAL interference. This service will provide protection for the legitimate, law abiding owner an example of which is the recent horrific tragedy here in Littleton, Colorado. The police were able to trace the weapons back to the original owner only thus making him an instant suspect and subject of inflammatory remarks and unwanted investigation. This service will provide for a record of transference of weapons, proof of ownership of weapons in case of loss or theft and offer a chance for the approximately 240-260 million unregistered weapons to be registered for the protection of the owner and provide him or her with a means of identification so as to be able to reclaim loss of such weapon. Release of information will be provided only at the registrants request. For additional information please contact: Personal Firearms Registry INC at: sjones@colorado.net. Web page under construction will be in use as of June 1, 1999.
