Peak Technologies : This little unknown software company has been quietly getting its product on the shelves of just about every major software retailer, Best Buy, CompUSA, EggHead, soon to be at Office Max and Office Depot. The product is Net.Jet a real time internet browser accelerator. It speeds up your modems by as much as 80%. It can be downloaded for a free 30 day trial at peak-media.com The company is unfortunately traded on the Alberta Exchange (symbol PKT.a) But I have confirmed that the company is moving to the Nasdaq Bulletin Board in 8 to 10 weeks. You can confirm this with their Investor Relations at 1-888-377-PEAK, ask for George Poulos. The bulletin board is the first step to moving to Nasdaq small cap. market. The move to the bulletin board should move the stock significantly. It currently trades at $0.65 U.S. Apparently their are a number of brokerage firms ready to buy the stock as soon as it moves over to NASDAQ. There are 10 million shares outstanding and management owns 55%. I expect a big announcement this coming week about some additions to its board of directors. The company plans an Investor Business Daily ad in the next week or so. There is also a possiblity for a Wall Street Journal article in the works. They have been signing bundling deals all over the world. It is only a matter of time until people discover this stock. But relief is at hand. Peak Technologies Inc.'s Net.Jet 1.5 cache utility has a look-ahead memory/ disk cache specifically designed to work with Netscape's Navigator or Microsoft's Internet Explorer. Working in the background, the utility downloads advance copies of the links on your current browser page, improving the response time on large sites like Microsoft's by 20 to 30 percent. Net.Jet creates its own cache directory on your hard disk and analyzes your Web browsing habits. The cache control panels have been greatly improved in the 1.5 version. There's now a rebuild cache button and a freshener tab that can refresh the entire cache contents in the background. You also can save different caches as well-for example, one for technology issues and one for sports. Unlike other products on the market, you don't have to learn how to use yet another piece of software. Net.Jet runs in the background and learns from your browsing habits. Version 1.5 also includes a new Pause button that can be used when visiting underpowered sites to prevent Net.Jet's look-ahead caching from swamping the server. Basically, 1.5 improves greatly on the interface, adding a number of controls and making the graphical view of loaded pages much clearer. Proxy support also has been added. You can't automatically update your copy to 1.5-you need to download 1.5 first and install it over 1.14. However, it'll recognize that the user already has a registered version installed.
