Attention Brimstone Shareholders Brimstone Gold Corp - Drilling commences Brimstone Gold Corp BSC Shares issued 7728970 1997-10-29 close $0.48 Thursday Oct 30 1997 Mr David Rovig reports The company has commenced underground drilling and the initial shipment of stockpiled reserves. The Mayflower mine is an historically operated high grade underground gold/silver shaft mine in the northern Tobacco Root mountains, about 30 miles southeast of Butte, Montana and about eight miles south of Placer Dome's Golden Sunlight mine near Whitehall, Montana. Two underground drills have been mobilized to the Mayflower mine to begin underground exploration and definition drilling of potential reserves. The first drill began drilling today from the 1,000 level shaft station exploring for a downward extension of the historically mined, steeply dipping, gold and silver telluride bearing western ore shoot. This historically producing zone was mined from the surface to the 1,000 level in a series of raises and open stopes and shows continuity of grade and mineable reserves over a distance of 75 to 125 feet within the plane of structure, with mineable widths varying from 2.5 to 22 feet. A total of eight holes consisting of about 2,500 feet of core drilling are planned from this initial underground drill station. The second underground drill will begin drilling from the 1,100 level once this level has been completely dewatered and the drill station constructed. The present water level after about 3 weeks of pumping is at the 1,100 level. This drill will be exploring for a downward extension and underground reserves in the western ore shoot from the 1,100 to the 1,250 level. Drilling is expected to commence about November 3 1997 with 10 holes (3,000 feet) planned. If mineable reserves are identified, there are development workings available for production. Underground definition drilling, and continuing shaft and 1,300 level rehabilitation will continue using two shifts (20 hours) per day, seven days a week. Following the initial round of drilling on the western ore shoot, one of the drills will be moved to the 1,300 level on the eastern ore shoot to begin confirmation and definition drilling of resources 300 to 375 feet below the previously mined reserves. Brimstone Mining has reached an agreement with ASARCO which allows Brimstone to complete an initial shipment to the ASARCO smelter in East Helena, Montana. Between 600 to 1,000 tons of stockpiled low grade ore will be shipped in early November for processing and testing. Preliminary sampling graded about 0.495 opt gold and 8.61 opt silver. In addition, Brimstone has reached a tentative agreement to sample and ship an additional 7,000 tons of stockpiled lower grade rock to a nearby mine for processing and metallurgical testing. This stockpile grades about 0.18 opt gold and 2.5 opt silver. Does anyone have any knowledge about the potential for this company? | ||||||||||||||
