These two sister companies' major assets are oil shale deposits in Australia, estimated at 25 billion barrels of oil equivalent. In comparison, the combined reserves of the world's two biggest oil companies, Exxon and Royal Dutch, are 15.6 billion barrels. They are attempting to extract the oil using a similiar technology as the one applied to the Canadian oil sands.
