What kind of stock would be trading at a PE of 1.98? A stock of company with not much future? A stock of a company without much name recognition?

How about the stock of Mauna Loa Macademia Partners, based in Hawaii (don't you wish you were based in Hawaii -- I do).

Do research on this: look at biz.yahoo.com for starters. Company has a book value of $8.05 and is trading around the 4 to 4 3/8 range. Return on equity? 26%. Price to sales? 2.51. No significant long term debt.

Is this good? It gets better.

This stock trades on the NYSE. It pays a dividend of 30 cents per share.

Bad news?

You bet! Droughts are going to affect production in the short term. No one can be sure of future weather, but these are the expectations. This means the P/E will rise, maybe as high as 10, maybe higher.

More good news?

Only 1 analyst seems to follow this stock. There is not much volume. If Wall Street decides to take an interest, this stock should rise.

Should one buy NUT?

I would suggest not to. Why? Because the better gamble is to buy CBHI which will soon get merged into NUT and is selling at a discount. Check the news on CBHI and you will see that is is now trading at a discount to its worth upon merger.

Do lots and lots of research on this. Take your time. This is not a growth stock. It is a conservative, dividend paying stock (NYSE:NUT).

If it stays at 4 for the next 5 years, at least you can earn better rates than long term bonds due to its nice dividend.

-RDH.
