Hi My name is vic vreeland and I am starting this subject to share with my fellow "s.i.'rs" a wonderful vacation travel deal as well as IMO a wayyyyyyyy undervalued stock. Rated "The best cruise for the money" by a national travel magazine, Commodore appears to be moving forward. I know from first hand experience....you see we are getting ready to take the third cruise on the ss enchanted isle out of new orleans next month. The ships are smaller and more intimate than the large "party" ships. About 750 passengers. Judi and I have been mixing two nights in new orleans with the seven day cruise (2 and 5 available too)for an unforgettable 9 day experiance.* There is even secured parking right at the pier. We have also flown in on saturday morning, caught a cab from the airport right up to the ship terminal. You check in and you are on your way. It is about the easiest transformation from the "real world" to a week of fun. Most of the passangers are middle age to older. Not many "rug or frat rats" running around. Like I said, this is our third cruise, but most of the passengers are repeat customers; converts from the big party cruise lines. We met one couple who were on their 46th Commodore Cruise. While the clients are older, the cruise is by no means sedate. Oh I guess you could sit in a deck chair for a week, but there is plenty of quality entertainment (for all ages) and many choices of shore excursions. Of course great food is provided in the cost of the cruise. Drinks are very reasonably priced. Passengers are given a "commodore card" which they use to "charge" all their purchases on board, including the excursions and etc. The night before you leave, you receive an itemized list of your extra purchases, which are charged to the credit card of your choice. There are only a few "dress up nights" so you don't have to have a tux - sport coat and tie are fine for the guys and evening ware for the ladies. We have visited the Mayan ruins of Tulum and Copan (Hondorus trip) and look forward to visiting many other intersting places in the future. I have, like the rest of you, bought stock in compaines I have never done business with much less believe in. I said - "Hey you cruise with these folks, why not buy the stock?" Even if you don't buy the stock, I invite you to travel on these fine ships. The staff is now like family to us. They remembered us from the 1st cruise and the service is excellent. They must be doing something right since they are booked months in advance. They are aquiring financing $10 mil for additional aquisitions and have $60 mil in assets. Commodore is at $6 now - Carnival is at $67 - there is plenty of room for a move up. ps. CLASSIC CRUISE SHIP Company Announces Its 1999 Program to Key West and Mexico--Book Early to Avoid Disappointment Commodore> Cruise Lines, one of those lines which operates classic, older ships that we recommend so highly in the current (summer) edition of Arthur Frommer's Budget Travel Magazine (now at newsstands everywhere), has just announced its sailings for 1999. The line and its ships being so popular, it doesn't hurt to plan ahead, to avoid that disappointing reply, "Sorry, we're all booked up." They will be operating cruises out of New Orleans on its ship, the Enchanted Isle, taking seven nights, and sailing to Key West, Playa del Carmen and Cozumel, the last two ports in Mexico. This is the first year <Commodore> will sail to Key West, and the first time the ship will stay overnight in Cozumel. James Sullivan, president of the line, says Key West was added "in order to satisfy numerous requests from our passengers."
