Earthworks is a small company in Vancouver (18 million shares) that has spent ten years or so jumping through all the regulatory hoops in order to develop a landfill on an Indian Reserve in Northern California. The Indian Reserve in question is a piece of land that is of no use (that's why the Indians were given it.) At various times EWK stock has been at $2.00 and once even nearly made it to $3.00. However it pulled back after a legal challenge to the landfill from neighboring Colusa County. EWK won the challenge and has the go ahead from the Department of the Interior to proceed. EWK has made deal with North Bay Corp, one of the largest private landfill companies in California, and NB has hired a well known landfill engineer, Bryce Howard, to advance the project. It is expected that construction will begin in the spring of 2008 and the landfill will be open on October of 2008. EWK has been mentioned by Doug Casey as a potential investment. | ||||||||||||||
