.........This forum is designed to mimic the old Killietalk forum which was a very popular feature for killie hobbyists in years past. Killie hobbyists are encouraged to post questions, husbandry tips, notices, sources of killies, breeding experiences, live food culture, water conditions, etc......... most anything related to the killie hobby......this includes posts of killies and killie related items for sale or trade. I just ask that any sale/trade negotiation between two interested parties be done by using the PRIVATE REPLY option. Any and all terms considered important by either the buyer or seller should be spelled out in the PRIVATE REPLY negotiations between the two parties. These should be kept in one's private Mail Box for future reference should any dispute arise. The moderator will be the sole adjudicator regarding whether a party (was/was not) dealing in good faith. The ONLY punitive action that can be taken by the moderator is to ban the offender from future posting.
The obvious assumption is that virtually all members will be FREE subscribers.....As such, there will be some premium features of the site not available to them.....However, anyone can join....There is no screening process......Lively discussion is encouraged although obvious trolls will be dealt with. The board IS moderated........and clearly offensive posts/posters can be deleted/banned. One can read posts and browse without registering on the site. However, in order to make or respond to posts, one first has to register on the Silicon Investor site and also be currently logged in to the site. In order to register on the Silicon Investor site, follow the simple procedure outlined below.

.....once there, the first thing to do is to "Prove you are not a Robot" by typing the letters from the provided image

.....next, you must create a log-in ID and password that you will use to log in to the site (4-20) characters for each)...Both are unique to you and will not be seen by anyone else....if you do not log off after each use, you will remain logged on indefinitely and so need not re log-in when you return........this is a convenient feature

.....next is to create an onscreen alias...... Your Alias is the name that EVERYONE will see when you post a message. It cannot be the same as your Login ID. Use your real name only if you are comfortable with living a public internet life (up to 20 characters)

.....next, provide your real name and e-mail address............an e-mail will be sent to your address containing an activation link to ACTIVATE your account.....just click on the link.........your e-mail address and real name will not be supplied to any Killietalk member........all public and private mail is maintained on the server which hosts the site.....thus, your real identity and real e-mail address need never be revealed other then for Killietalk to initially activate your account.

.........Silicon Investor has very many useful features that heighten the experience here.....some are limited to paid subscriptions. However, useful features abound ...even for free users.........I encourage you to explore the site.........Some quick tips......Free subscribers are limited to 5 posts a day.....One can make public replies to a post which everyone sees or send a private reply/post to the author which he only sees. The "search" feature is very useful to locate prior posts or authors.........the "keep" feature lets you permanently mark and locate posts which you may have found of enough interest to want to re-examine later.....the "ignore" feature allows you to screen out posts from people who for whatever reason you would rather not see. There are many many other useful features....any questions or suggestions on how this forum can be improved should be sent to me.... ..either by public or private reply.... so..GO FOR IT............and enjoy the Killietalk experience!
