Formerly WON(Sports and Recreation), until the 2/14/97 announcement of the name change, with the NYSE ticker symbol to change on 2/20/97. It is the second biggest sporting goods warehouse store in the country behind Sports Authority(TSA), and looks to be in the process of gaining a lot of ground. The close on 2/14 was 6 and 3/4 compared with a book value of 7.8. The projected earnings of '96 fiscal year are in the low .20s with the following year supposed to more than double...low .50s. The former Home Depot Canada management people have taken over and are more than halfway through their restructuring, waiting to turn all around before giving the new name for national identity and marketing purposes. Growth is to start again on a wide scale next year, with one store opening scheduled for this year and 10 for next year. The recent Super Show in Atlanta, the industry trade show, is where the name change was announced, and it went through Bloomberg with CNBC clips and the presence of several analysts. Raymond James gave a very positive rating in the Tampa Tribune in 12/96. The Tampa Tribune link for the Super Show announcement is tampatrib.com Looks to be a likely big gainer over the next two years. I'd appreciate opinions and input from all interested.
