Intelispan, Inc. is a Scottsdale, Arizona-based company that sells secure Internet services over an intelligent, private network provided by its alliance partner, WorldCom Inc. Intelispan adds significant value to this network with a unique and comprehensive portfolio of software-based network and security services that make the company a one-stop business solutions provider.

Security is problematic for most VPNs, which traditionally rely on "tunneling," a CPU-intensive protocol that is limited to point-to-point communications. Tunneling places a burden on network resources, reducing the cost efficiencies of network communications. In addition, it uses standard IP addressing outside of the tunnel, making most VPNs susceptible to Internet hackers.
