Many have asked the question in hushed voices. Is this administration manipulipulating the stock market? If they are, what methods are they using? Would they dare resort to communist / socialist measures and actually "buy the market"? Ownership of shares in companies is the ownership of those companies. If they are supporting the market(even though it would be wrong) can they win? The public ownership of publicly traded companies is larger than the government. How would the public feel about it? Would these sort of actions build or degrade faith in the administration and market system? Would there be an outcry of outrage or a sigh of relief? If they are supporting companies, which ones? There is not enough money to buy a support level in all companies, if we all rushed for the doors. The person who wrote the linked article believes in a "Plunge Protection Team".
