"Boiler Room" released 2/17/00 provides an inside view of the darker side of wall street. It's portrayed as the 'lowlife' investment houses. But.. there's also a recent book out, "License to Steal : The Secret World of Wall Street and the Systematic Plundering of the American Investor", 1999, where the practices of 'top' house firms are not that much different. An Amazon book reviewer names one of our more famous house's practices for pitching stocks, and it could be the house that someone in your family uses. I thought I'd start this thread as a forum where folks might share their opinions or experiences with the brokerage communitity, or what they thought of the movie or the book. | ||||||||||||
