Gupta makes graphic user interface tool software for application developers used on data base. This company was not profitable since its IPO. But recently, it announced that in the history of the company, it is going to have a profitable quarter. It has changed its top management. The original founder and CEO Mr. Gupta has retired. And they have been working on the market strategies to increase their visibility. I was told by my friend that their products are much better than that of their competitors. They have installed a large base on some prominent companies like Ford, AT&T..etc. Their balance sheet is not bad, as far as I can remember(I’ve not get a chance to read their recent report), very small debt and a good cash position. The drawback of this company is that they face very strong competitions from established companies like Sybase.
It could be a turn around play given the facts that the recent profitability and new management.
Comments are welcome.

Jim
