I am totally shocked that there is no thread here on Crescent's REIT.

If you don't know, CEI is run by Richard Rainwater, considered a type of Warren Buffet, Peter Lynch, Zell Davis, etc type of character. He is famous for amassing the wealth of the rich "Bass Brothers" in Texas and his REIT has returned 77.4 % in the last 12 months.

Crescent is described officially as:

"A fully integrated real estate company that provides management and leasing services with respect to its properties. Crescent owns a portfolio consisting of 12 Class A office properties and two retail centers located in Texas, Colorado and Arizona."

It is considered a "New-Era REIT" because of it's stunning growth rate.

It is owned by 133 institutions, or 72.5% of the stock--that's smart money folks.

It has been recently featured on CNBC, where they went out to Arizona to interview him (never seen them do that before) and in Money magazine's "10 stocks to own for 1997" because of the relative saftey compared to regular securities.

I could go on, but you all should do some of your own research too!
