Hello, my name is Andy Riedel and I work for Mpath Interactive, the creators of the Mplayer Internet Game Service. We currently have over 125,000 registered users and support 28 game titles. The online game industry is just entering its second phase. Phase one consisted if building the necessary networking infrastructure, communicating the vision to developers, proving the concept, and beginning initial marketing to niche game players. Phase two will consist mainly of broadening the availablity, quantity and quality of both the network infrastructure of online game services as well as the content they provide. I would like to use this forum to discuss the current state of the industry as well as the prospects for the future. I believe that ultimately, online games will be the most prevalent type of gaming entertainment, companies such as ours will go public, and lots of money will be made by investors and shareholders. I welcome anyone interested in discussing these issues to the thread and look forward to sharing insights as an industry insider. Andy Riedel Mpath Interactive | ||||||||||||
