This forum is about INVESTING FOR THE LONG RUN. An effective way to build lasting wealth is through steady capital appreciation combined with strict control of downside risk. Betting on drastic gains with substantial volatility is not a viable long-term strategy. I emphasize stock selection that focuses on good growth prospect, great potential for price appreciation, and a history of solid performance. I also emphasize portfolio diversification to further control risks. The objective is to construct well-balanced portfolios that typically return more than the benchmark S&P 500 in bull markets and decline less – if any – in bear markets.

This investment approach allows investors to stay emotionally detached from the short-term swings of the market, and focus on the long run.

Let’s use this forum to share ideas about how to INVEST FOR THE LONG RUN. Anything related to this theme, including general investment strategies and specific stock picks, is welcome.
